Hello to our wonderful supporters of PWS research! My name is Jack Jones, and I’m in my third year as board president for FPWR Canada. My third child, Brooke, has Prader-Willi Syndrome.
As you know, PWS families have to deal with many challenges. Our loved ones have no effective treatment for the life-threatening hunger, behavioral, and other physical and psychological problems caused by PWS. At the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research Canada, our mission is to eliminate the challenges of this disorder through the advancement of research.
I have never had as much hope for the future of our loved ones as I do right now. Thanks to your continued support, there are currently an unprecedented number of drugs in phase three clinical trials that may reduce or eliminate some of the biggest challenges of PWS. These include treatments that have the potential to control the ceaseless hunger that causes so much suffering. At this year’s FPWR research conference, we even started to talk seriously about the potential of genetically curing aspects of the disorder.
Each holiday season, we ask our amazing community of families, parents, friends, and other generous supporters to donate what they can to push us even further. With every dollar contributed, we are that much closer to sending out the announcement that an effective PWS treatment is on the market. Your donation might make that message possible.
To show the huge impact such a message could make, we’ve asked some of the people most affected to share their thoughts on PWS - the siblings of some of our loved ones with Prader-Willi Syndrome. Please watch and listen to their story, and make a donation if you can.
May you and your loved ones have a warm and wonderful holiday season!
Thank you for your donation towards PWS research.
Funds raised will be used to advance PWS research through the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research Canada. You can learn more about PWS and the research that is underway at http://www.fpwr.ca/research/.
